Sun-Net awarded TOA® Suite Extension for Distribution Control Center Contract by Duke Energy

SAN JOSE, CA, October 17, 2011 - Sun-Net Consulting Inc., based in San Jose, California, announced it has been awarded the Sun-Net’s TOA® suite extension for Distribution Control Center contract by Duke Energy.

Duke Energy, a top Fortune 500 company, received Department of Energy stimulus funds to support smart grid projects and modernize the electric grid in the company’s five-state service territory.

Duke Energy Awards Contract to Sun-Net

Sun-Net Consulting (Sun-Net) announced it has been awarded Duke Energy's Outage Coordination, Scheduling, Switching & Logging system contract for Sun-Net's Transmission Outage Application suite of products.

Duke Energy has awarded an Outage Coordination contract for Sun-Net's Transmission Outage Application (TOA®). Duke considered their internal software versus TOA® and after visiting several TOA® customers' sites settled on TOA®. The software delivered by Sun-Net will provide Duke Energy with advanced Outage Coordination Reporting / Logging tools for Transmission, Distribution, Generation Status and Compliance Monitoring.

Duke Energy headquartered in Charlotte North Carolina offers electric service to approximately 4 million customers in the Carolinas, Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana. Their service area covers approximately 47,000 square miles in the Midwest and Southeast with a fleet of power plants generating 28,000 megawatts of electricity.
